SEAMAP
TRANSIT
INTRODUCTION
Seamap is the unified solution to Puget Sound’s fragmented and underused transit system. Light rail, buses, ferries, and trains all operate separately, leaving riders confused. While ORCA aimed to streamline these services, its poor design and implementation only added to the frustration.
INTRODUCTION
Challenge
We were met with a unique challenge with building seamap. we had to make an effective map service, card manager, and much more while making it simpler and easier to use than apps that had less features. we had to create one app that let users merge all their transit apps into one.
User Flow & Site Maps
User flows provide a step by step through our app while site maps show overall structure, ensuring consistency when we’re building the SEAMAP app.
PERSONAS
RESEARCH INSIGHTS
Users want real-time confirmation that transit funds are available
Language used in transit apps is often vague/confusing
Competitors offer cleaner UI and instant balance updates
Users don’t trust Orca’s reload process and fear double-charging
